PRIMARY CARE
Our model of primary care is patient-centered and fully comprehensive, delivered by a skilled and culturally sensitive team. We offer a full range of services that emphasize prevention and wellness in both mind and body.
QUICK CARE
Callen-Lorde provides Quick Care (walk-in) appointments on a first-come, first-served basis for a range of non-life-threatening conditions. You may be scheduled for same or next day appointment depending on availability.
ADOLESCENT HEALTH (HOTT)
Our welcoming, non-judgmental, confidential program is designed specifically to meet the medical and mental health needs of LGBTQ+ adolescents and young adults ages 13-24, including homeless and unstably housed youth. Services are now offered at all Callen-Lorde locations!
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
We offer mental health services and counseling in conjunction with primary care to support emotional and physical well-being. All services are culturally-sensitive, sex-positive, implement overdose prevention resources and promote patient self-determination.
Our services include short- and long-term individual and group psychotherapy, psychiatric assessment, psychotropic medication management, crisis intervention, substance abuse assessment and stabilization services.
Please note: we are only able to provide Behavioral Health to patients who are engaged in primary care at Callen-Lorde and uninsured or have Medicaid, Medicare or ADAP. We do not accept private or commercial insurances for Behavioral Health at this time.
COIN CLINIC
Named for icon and lifelong advocate Cecilia Gentili, Cecilia’s Occupational Inclusion Network (COIN) is a healthcare program for sex workers, which provides free care in an affirming, supportive environment.
DENTAL SERVICES
Offered only at our Chelsea location.
Our Dental suite in Chelsea offers comprehensive dental and oral healthcare, including preventive, restorative, rehabilitative, cosmetic, endodontic, periodontal and emergency services, as well as a dental hygiene program.
ELDER CARE
We know aging can come with its own unique challenges. That’s why we have health and supportive services specifically designed to address the needs of elders. Callen-Lorde aims to help patients live authentically and age healthily through tailored support for new diagnoses, programs for those aging with HIV, assistance with benefits or assigning a healthcare proxy, cardiology and more.
Callen-Lorde is accredited as an Age-Friendly Health System by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
HIV SERVICES
Callen-Lorde provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art HIV and AIDS treatment, prevention, care and support, including PrEP and PEP, with a range of services under one roof.
SEXUAL HEALTH
Our clinics offer testing, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and sex-positive, individual counseling focused on the specific needs of LGBTQ+ communities. We aim to help patients stay safe and healthy while maintaining a satisfying sex life.
Services are available by appointment at all sites. Walk-in testing is available on Saturdays in Chelsea.
TRANSGENDER HEALTH
Callen-Lorde provides an affirming environment where patients can receive care and engage long-term with a primary care provider and/or a mental health provider to address the full spectrum of health and wellness needs.
WOMEN’S HEALTH
The Women’s Health program at Callen-Lorde offers empowering, non-judgmental, body-positive healthcare in an open and welcoming environment. Our services are provided in a safe and supportive space to women—regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
CARE COORDINATION
Callen-Lorde also provides Care Coordination tailored for patients who need additional support. Our care coordinators offer information and assistance with benefits and entitlements, including insurance, housing and referrals to other supportive services.
HEALTH INSURANCE OUTREACH & ENROLLMENT
Our team of insurance navigators helps determine patients’ eligibility for free or low-cost health insurance through Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act and can assist with enrollment.
PHARMACY
By filling your prescriptions at a Callen-Lorde pharmacy, you help us provide care to the most vulnerable members of our communities, regardless of ability to pay. Our convenient onsite pharmacies offer free delivery and discounted medications for qualifying patients!
HOSPITALIZATION: For Callen-Lorde patients who need to be hospitalized, we will work with affiliated hospitals to provide inpatient and outpatient services. We can also provide escorts if needed.
ON-CALL PROVIDERS: Callen-Lorde providers are available outside of clinical hours. To contact an on-call provider when the health center is closed, please call 212-271-7200 and you will be forwarded to the call service.
All services are offered at all locations unless otherwise noted. We accept a range of payment and insurance options, including a sliding fee scale for the uninsured.
