Health Insurance Outreach & Enrollment

The COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) allowed many people across the country to get on and stay on Medicaid and public health insurance. During that time individuals were not required to renew their Medicaid insurance, but that period has come to an end.

Starting from April 1st, 2023, through the spring of 2024, individuals will need to manually renew their Medicaid coverage. If at that time you are no longer eligible for Medicaid, you have the option to enroll into a different type of health insurance. If for any reason you do not renew on time, it could result in you having a lapse in coverage and will need to re-enroll.

If you have not been renewed or would like more Information, please call our Insurance Navigation department at (212) 271-7270 or request a call back at https://callen-lorde.org/FE_callback/. Our Navigation team are trained to help you understand your health coverage options and enroll in coverage.

If you cannot reach our team, feel free to contact the New York state of Health Marketplace at (855) 355-5777 or call your health plan for assistance.
