Our model of primary care is patient-centered and fully comprehensive, encompassing a full range of services delivered in a skilled and culturally sensitive team model, stressing prevention and wellness in both mind and body.
Empowering, non-judgmental, body-positive primary, GYN and supportive healthcare, including care coordination, case management, referrals and healthy living workshops and seminars. All services are provided in a safe and supportive space to all women – lesbian, bisexual, trans and gender non-conforming, queer or straight – regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Comprehensive, sensitive primary and sexual healthcare provided by experts in the fields of trans and gender nonconforming health and wellness. Callen-Lorde provides a trans-affirmative environment where patients can receive hormone therapy as well as engage in an ongoing relationship with a primary care provider and/or a mental health provider to address the full spectrum of health and wellness needs. HIV/AIDS CARE Comprehensive HIV-related care delivered by culturally competent specialists, offered in conjunction with care coordination and case management, providing assistance to patients in navigating housing, health benefits, and immigration issues in order to remove barriers to care.

Visit callen-lorde.org/calendar for mobile locations Welcoming, non-judgmental, confidential program designed specifically to meet the medical and mental health needs of LGBTQ adolescents and young adults ages 13-24, including homeless and unstably housed youth. All services are offered both at a youth-only medical suite at Callen-Lorde, and on HOTT’s Mobile Medical Unit which travels to areas throughout New York City.
Short and long-term mental health services and counseling in conjunction with primary care to support emotional and physical well-being. All services are culturally sensitive and sex positive, consistent with risk reduction principles and promote patient self-determination. Our services include short and long-term individual and group psychotherapy, psychiatric assessment, psychotropic medication management, crisis intervention, substance abuse assessment and stabilization services.
CASE MANAGEMENT/CARE COORDINATION
For patients receiving medical care at Callen-Lorde, our Care Coordination department offers assistance with obtaining benefits and entitlements, HASA, ADAP, insurance navigation, gender marker changes, surgery coordination and escorts to outside health care services. We can also provide referrals for housing, financial assistance, intimate partner violence, legal assistance and other public and private resources. Supportive and Intensive Case Management services for all patients needing additional assistance navigating housing, health and other benefits.
At Callen-Lorde and across the five boroughs, LGBTQ affirming enrollers screen interested applicants for free and low-cost insurance eligibility, helping to answer questions and complete applications for clients. This service is provided free of charge.
SEXUAL HEALTH CLINIC
Sex-positive counseling, testing, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections and individual counseling, focused on the specific needs of the LGBTQ communities. The Sexual Health Clinic aims to assist patients stay safe and healthy while maintaining a satisfying sex life.
18th Street location only. Comprehensive dental and oral healthcare including preventive, restorative, rehabilitative, cosmetic, endodontic, periodontal and emergency services, as well as a dental hygiene program.
18th Street and Bronx location only. A full onsite pharmacy offering discounted medication and free home delivery to those in need. Prescriptions can be filled electronically and through our app, available for iPhone and Android users.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND EDUCATION
Offering high-impact education and outreach programming to community agencies and organizations to help advance understanding of LGBTQ health and wellness.
In addition to directly providing care, Callen-Lorde impacts the health and wellness of LGBTQ people and people living with HIV/AIDS around the globe through cutting edge research. Our researchers lead studies and publications on a variety of topics ranging from advances in HIV prevention to our informed consent protocols for hormone therapy, influencing global healthcare leaders and policymakers.
HOSPITALIZATION: For Callen-Lorde patients that need to be hospitalized, we will work with affiliated hospitals to provide care for our patients for inpatient and outpatient services. We can also provide escorts if needed.
