LGBTQ Health Clinical Rotations

Clinical rotations are currently suspended until further notice. We are launching new training initiatives and will continue to assess capacity for 2-week rotations. As a leader in LGBTQ healthcare, we remain dedicated to our educational mission and will re-open to trainees as soon as we are able. Please check back on this page for updates on application submissions.

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center offers 2-week clinical rotations (approximately 80 hours) in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender/nonbinary, and queer (LGBTQ) health for medical and psychiatry residents, nurse practitioner students, and physician assistant students. If you are interested in working with the Health Outreach to Teens (HOTT) Program, Adolescent Medicine Fellows can also apply.

We value a comprehensive approach to LGBTQ health in which we aim to provide quality, evidence-based, affirming healthcare that is grounded in a non-judgemental, harm reduction-based approach. We strive to maintain a safe, stigma-free, and welcoming space for all.

Student and resident trainees will spend the majority of the hours assisting in direct patient medical care, and may have opportunities to participate in behavioral health, care coordination, dental health, and community advocacy.

Please understand that due to extremely high demand, these positions are very competitive.  We have very limited capacity to take trainees and a high volume of requests. We prioritize applicants with a demonstrated commitment of working with the LGBT community.

Please note that all human resources and medical clearance paperwork must be completed no later than 2 months prior to start of rotation.

Thank you for your interest.

Sincerely,

Chance Krempasky, FNP, WHNP
