Meet-and-Greet Appointments

“Meet-and-Greets” are shorter, 20 minute appointments that give you faster connection to care. They may not be appropriate for more complex healthcare needs.

What is a Meet-and-Greet?

To meet the needs of our community, we are opening up shorter appointments, that allow you to start your healthcare journey with Callen-Lorde sooner. These 20 minute Meet-and-Greet appointments are the perfect amount of time to introduce yourself to our providers, learn about our services and establish an entry point for your healthcare needs. We may not get to everything in that 20 minutes, but it will give you and your new Callen-Lorde provider a chance to get a headstart into your care journey.

What to Expect

Your provider will introduce themselves, their role and their approach to care
You will be invited to share your medical history, concerns, priorities and goals
Your provider will explain how care at Callen-Lorde works, including team-based care, MyChart communication, prescription refills and urgent care options
Your provider will confirm next steps and follow-up plans
If you have any immediate needs or concerns, your provider will work with you to address them during the Meet-and-Greet or assess the need for a follow-up visit

After your Meet-and-Greet, you can continue booking appointments until your immediate need is addressed, or come regularly for annual check-ups, sexual healthcare and more. Once you’re connected to our services, there is always space for you here.

What if I Want a Longer Visit?

If a Meet-and-Greet appointment doesn’t sound like the right option, you can also choose to make a longer comprehensive appointment as your first visit. Our Meet-and-Greet visits are a great way to get to know each other, but if you have more complex concerns, we’ve found it’s best to schedule a full visit so we can take additional time to provide the most thoughtful care possible for more complex topics. Your care is up to you!
