Hepatitis C Rapid Testing

Hepatitis C is a viral disease that leads to swelling (inflammation) of the liver. Exposure occurs in many of the same ways as HIV – through unprotected sex, sharing needles, or coming in contact with someone else’s blood. In the U.S., Hepatitis C is at least four times more prevalent than HIV/AIDS, and kills more people than AIDS each year. Despite this, a Hepatitis C test is not typically part of a routine physical exam or routine blood work; you must ask to be tested!
