Welcoming Our New CEO!
Message from Lanita Ward-Jones, Callen-Lorde Board Chair
On behalf of Callen-Lorde’s Board of Directors, I am delighted to announce a significant milestone in our organization’s journey. After an extensive nationwide search, we are pleased to announce that we have appointed Patrick McGovern (he/him/his) as Callen-Lorde’s Chief Executive Officer.
Patrick will be leading us into an exciting future as we work to expand our exceptional LGBTQ+ healthcare and related services to our communities. Patrick’s years of advocacy for LGBTQ+ people and people living with HIV at Housing Works, Harlem United, Gilead and Amida Care, has already helped Callen-Lorde’s patients and advanced health equity and justice for our communities.
Patrick’s strategic vision and tactical experience has helped organizations grow their impact and their revenue. Patrick has worked in partnership with LGBTQ+ and Black and Brown community leaders across the city and across the country for many years and deeply understands the needs of our patients.

Patrick will be officially joining us on August 1, and we are eagerly looking forward to working collaboratively with him to enhance our programs, expand our reach, and deepen our impact in the LGBTQ+ healthcare landscape in New York City and beyond.
We would also like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our interim Executive Director, Jonathan Santos-Ramos. We are immensely grateful for his dedication and the tireless effort he has put into steering our organization through this leadership transition.
With the addition of Patrick McGovern and the continued support from all of you, our passionate supporters and community partners, we are confident in our ability to face future challenges head-on and make even greater strides in advancing LGBTQ+ healthcare for all those who need it.
