Understanding what New York’s shield laws mean for you

Callen-Lorde wants you to know that New York seeks to protect residents and out-of-state visitors that seek reproductive and gender-affirming health care here.  

In New York there are certain laws in place–shield laws–that aim to safeguard residents and health care providers from investigation and persecution based on the care they receive or give. The laws protect your personal information, protect your providers from punishment and protect parents from facing punitive action based on other states’ laws.
