Health Insurance Outreach & Enrollment

Callen-Lorde’s team of LGBTQ+ friendly insurance navigators are available to help determine if Callen-Lorde patient’s are eligible for free or low-cost health insurance under Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act and, if so, help them enroll. Our trained staff will meet with you, screen what programs and financial assistance you qualify for, help choose a plan that fits your healthcare needs, and submit the application on your behalf.

Starting from April 1st, 2023, through the spring of 2024, individuals will need to manually renew their Medicaid coverage. If at that time you are no longer eligible for Medicaid, you have the option to enroll into a different type of health insurance. If for any reason you do not renew on time, it could result in you having a lapse in coverage and will need to re-enroll.

Please keep in mind that in order to enroll, you must you must reside in New York State  and provide:

  • A valid NY State mailing address
  • Citizenship or Immigration status
  • Projected annual Income
  • D.O.B, SSN, phone number and email address
