Director of the Keith Haring Nurse Practitioner Postgraduate Fellowship in LGBTQ+ Health

Pronouns: She/Her

Catherine Trossello is a scholar-educator who is deeply committed to health equity and social justice.  She has participated in humanitarian work in countries around the world including Nicaragua, Mexico, Nepal, Ghana and in disaster relief efforts in Puerto Rico after the island-wide devastation of Hurricane Maria. Prior to working at Callen-Lorde, Catherine spent 7 years working in a clinic for undocumented immigrants from Latin & South America. In this clinic, she did full family practice including caring for adult and pediatric patients and managing an OB clinic. Now at Callen-Lorde, in addition to her clinical work, she is the Director of The Keith Haring Nurse Practitioner Postgraduate Fellowship in LGBTQ+ Health. This Fellowship is the first of its kind in the United States. Through this Fellowship, Catherine strives to create an educational and training program that not only allows the Keith Haring Fellows to bring forward all they learn to other health care settings, but that also uplifts and supports NP’s, especially those new to practice. Catherine lives in Brooklyn, NY and is adjunct faculty at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing.
