Community Health Awards

November 7, 2019 @ 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Honoring the leaders and trailblazers in the fields of LGBTQ Health and Wellness, the Community Health Awards consistently draws hundreds of Callen-Lorde’s strongest friends and supporters. The evening includes a cocktail reception, banquet, awards presentation, entertainment, and inspirational speeches from community leaders.

This year we will bestow honors upon leader, artist, and activist, Cecilia Gentili, for the incredible contributions she has made and continues to make in the realm of LBGTQ health equity and justice, and William Floyd, Director of State and Local Government Affairs & Public Policy for Google New York, for his leadership and support of LGBTQ causes. Recently, he ensured that the history and voices of the Stonewall Riots were preserved through Google’s support, providing a platform to educate those within and outside of LGBTQ communities for generations to come.

This year’s Community Health Awards is made possible by our dedicated event committee: Ellen Alpert (co-chair), Kris Bungay, James T. Evans (co-chair), Nelson Fernandez, Carl Gaines, John Hadity, Even Hurwitz, Geremy Kawaller (co-chair), Karen Sauvigné, and Lanita Ward-Jones.
