Callen Lorde Community Health Center

Sexual Health Clinic

Callen-Lorde emphasizes prevention of sexually-transmitted infections (STI) and has improved access to STI clinical care by offering screening and treatment services apart from primary care in our Sexual Health Clinic.

Services offered through the Sexual Health Clinic include:

  • Screening for STIs (i.e., gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and hepatitis A and B) without symptoms
  • Diagnosis and treatment for STIs for patients with known exposure.
  • Diagnosis and treatment for symptomatic STIs
  • Prevention education and risk reduction counseling to minimize risk for STIs and HIV
  • HIV counseling and testing during your STI screening visit. Click here to learn more about HIV testing.

POST-EXPOSURE PROPHYLAXSIS (PEP)

PEP is:

  • 1 month of HIV medications
  • A potential tool against HIV infection if taken AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after exposure (within 36 hours is ideal).

To access PEP, you can walk-in to be screened for eligibility or call 212-271-7200 for an appointment.

Appointments are encouraged on weekdays and can be made by calling (212) 271-7200.

Walk-in appointments available on Saturdays.

Sexual Health Clinic services are provided at Callen-Lorde as well as on our mobile medical unit. For information about the mobile schedule, please call (212) 271-7200.
