PATIENT CARE SERVICES
Callen-Lorde offers a comprehensive, integrated program of quality medical and mental health services. We seek to engage our patients in a sensitive, ongoing relationship that focuses on prevention and wellness, rather than just the treatment of illness.

 


Primary Medical Care
Comprehensive primary care services emphasizing prevention and wellness, delivered by providers with extensive expertise in LGBT health concerns.


Health Outreach to Teens (HOTT)
Adolescent and young adult medical and mental health program targeting homeless youth, including those who identify as LGBTQ. Services are delivered both on-site at Callen-Lorde and on a fully-equipped medical outreach van.


HIV Primary Medical Care
Comprehensive, state-of-the-art HIV/AIDS medical care and support services in an integrated model of care, including Care Coordination, HIV Medication Education & Support, and Mental Health services.


Lesbian and Bisexual Women's Health
Comprehensive primary care and gynecological services focused on the unique needs of lesbians and trans-men, with an emphasis on cancer screening and prevention.

  • Breast Cancer Prevention: To assist our uninsured patients, Callen-Lorde partners with Columbia Cancer Prevention Services to offer free screening and diagnostic testing for eligible individuals.

Mental Health
In close collaboration with medical providers, Callen-Lorde's Mental Health Department offers a comprehensive range of services to support our patients' emotional and psychological wellbeing.

  • Support Groups: Callen-Lorde offers support groups for patients of transgender experience and individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

Transgender Services
Comprehensive, trans-sensitive primary care, breast/chest cancer screening, sexual health services, as well as counseling and education, hormone therapy, and referrals to support services.


Oral Health
Comprehensive dental hygiene and oral health services, including restorative services such as crowns and dentures.


Sexual Health
Screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections. The Sexual Health Clinic aims to help patients stay safe and healthy while maintaining a satisfying sex life.

  • Saturday Clinic: Sexual Health Clinic is open for walk-in services on Saturdays on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Post-Exposure Prophylaxis: Emergency treatment for individuals recently exposed to HIV, which may prevent infection.
  • Rapid HIV Testing: Free HIV testing with results available in as little as 20 minutes.

Health Education & Outreach
Providing health information, training, and education to communities and institutions outside of Callen-Lorde to help ensure that LGBT people receive safe and supportive health care services
beyond our doors.
