Lesbian and Bisexual Women's Health

Have you experienced challenges in accessing quality, sensitive healthcare? If so, then you are not alone. Callen-Lorde’s goal is to address the specific health needs of New York's lesbian and bisexual communities, and create a welcoming environment for all women to receive quality health care. All women have generally been underserved and experience difficulties in getting quality and sensitive health care. This is especially true for lesbians and bisexual women and other women who partner with women, however they may identify.

Callen-Lorde provides Care Coordination services for women who may need assistance in obtaining medical care outside of Callen-Lorde and related services including information and referrals regarding benefits and entitlements, including insurance and referrals to other supportive services.

Lesbian Health Services include:

• Women's wellness screenings
• Breast health care
• Gynecological care
• Menopausal management
• Ongoing medical care for chronic health conditions
• Health promotion and prevention services
• In office medical procedures to diagnose and and treat pre-cancerous changes of the cervix first found in an abnormal Pap smear.
• Alternative Insemination

These services are offered in a safe and supportive environment at any time during regular Callen-Lorde business hours.
