CLINICAL DIRECTOR OF ADOLESCENT/YOUNG ADULTS PROGRAM (FULL-TIME MEDICAL PROVIDER) – HEALTH OUTREACH TO TEENS (HOTT)

Position Summary

The Clinical Director of HOTT is responsible for overseeing the delivery of comprehensive primary care to our adolescent patients, including HIV+, homeless and questioning youth in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner. He/she is expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, and to function as clinical leader of a care-giving team. Administrative responsibilities include the training, education and clinical supervision of staff providing adolescent care, the development of clinical protocols in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer, assisting with management of Youth related Grant funded Program requirements, and participation in quality management. He/she will function as part of a team to develop strategic growth initiatives for the HOTT Program.

Work Schedule/Salary/Benefits

The Health Center is open Monday through Saturday. This full time position requires weekly 12 noon – 8:00 pm shifts as well some Saturdays on rotation. Salary will depend on experience and will be accompanied by an excellent benefits package, including individual medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, generous Paid Time off and 403B plans.

Qualifications

  • Current New York State License and Registration as a MD, DO or FNP.
  • Qualification as HIV specialist by NY DOH AIDS Institute standards and/or Adolescent Medicine Fellowship strongly preferred.
  • DEA Controlled Substances Registration Certificate and BCLS or ACLS certification required.
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience in HIV, adolescent medicine and/or working with lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender populations strongly preferred.
  • Experience in clinical administration strongly preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde and community-based primary care.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a team-based structure.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for assisting primary care providers — physicians and mid-level providers by providing general nursing care, patient screening, and clinical support. This position reports to the Nursing Supervisor.

Work Schedule/Salary/Benefits

The Health Center is open Monday through Saturday. Two evening shifts per week are required.   • New York State LPN License.
  • Current CPR certification.

MANAGER OF INTEGRATED HEALTH SERVICES

Position Summary

The Manager of Integrated Health Services (MIHS) will ensure efficient administrative operation for the mental health and medical services provided at Callen-Lorde’s Article 31 Clinic. The MIHS will oversee daily operations and staffing and address patient concerns and complaints. The manager will also monitor visit volume, provide budget management and benchmark standards to develop corrective plans to improve service delivery. The MIHS will work in collaboration with the Director of Integrated Health and the Director of Psychiatry to ensure that clinical standards, funder, and regulatory compliance requirements are met. The MIHS will also conduct community outreach and develop partnerships to promote Callen-Lorde services to underserved populations. In addition, the MIHS will ensure the clinic is in compliance with all aspects of Article 31 and Article 28 service delivery documentation and contract deliverables for funding sources.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work Preferred or Bachelor’s degree in related field (required).
  • Five years managerial experience in a mental health or health care setting.
  • Experience working in Article 31 and Article 28 clinic.
  • Experience working with the LGBT community and those living with HIV and/or Mental Health concerns.
  • Computer literacy (internet, PC, Excel, Word).
  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record.
  • Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde Community Health Center.
  • Demonstrated leadership, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

MEDICAL RECORDS MANAGER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as the Medical Records Manager (MRM). This person will manage the day-to-day operations of the Medical Records department, insuring HIPAA-compliant handling of Health Information. The MRM will serve as Callen-Lorde’s Privacy Officer and oversee all privacy matters for the organization. The MRM will ensure the maintenance, integrity and security of the electronic and paper medical records system and coordinate the handling of PHI to ensure it meets New York State’s health information security and compliance standards. This person will be a working supervisor and lead a team responsible for responding to all requests for patient records, monitor telephone calls, lab entries, missing labs, scanning and filing. This person will directly address patient concerns and complaints. The MRM will contribute to the ongoing development, evaluation and improvement of Patient Services within the Medical Records department.

  • BS or BA in health administration or related field.
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience & high level administrative experience, preferably a Primary Care Medical practice.
  • 3+ years working in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and health information-applicable state regulations.
  • Knowledge of PHI, health information security and compliance.

NEXTGEN EHR SPECIALIST

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a flexible, dedicated individual to join our staff as a NextGen EHR Specialist (NES). The NES will develop, customize and test NextGen EHR templates and documents. The NES will troubleshoot issues related to the NextGen EHR and ensure that patient information is organized and maintained appropriately in the system. The NES will also ensure that templates and documents meet all internal and external requirements and regulations. This person will work in Callen-Lorde’s Health Information Technology (HIT) department and report to the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Work Schedule/Salary/Benefits

Callen-Lorde is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position with normal business hours (9:00AM to 5:00PM Monday – Friday). Occasional evenings and Saturdays will be required. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • NextGen Certified Professional – EHR strongly preferred.

  • Experience building templates and documents in an EHR system.
  • Extensive knowledge of NextGen setup, maintenance and configuration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and issues related to NextGen EHR.
  • Experience with NextGen KBM and application upgrades.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information-applicable state regulations.
  • SQL and MS SQL Server database experience a plus.

PATIENT CARE ASSOCIATE

Position Summary

We are seeking an exceptionally friendly, organized individual with computer proficiency and experience in medical settings to join our Medical Administrative Services Department as a Patient Care Associate (PCA). The PCA is part of our dynamic medical team and works with collaboration with our nursing and provider staff to ensure optimal patient care. The PCA is responsible for maintaining an efficient flow of patients, visitors, and phone calls into various systems of the Center. The PCA is a primary customer service contact with our patients, therefore, must be courteous, patient, and professional at all times.

Work Schedule/Salary/Benefits

Full time position – Minimum of 35 hours per week. Salary is paid at an hourly rate, plus excellent benefits package.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Social Service related discipline.
  • Strong computer competency (MS Office); ability to learn new software.

SOCIAL WORKER

Position Summary

The Social Worker will provide individual, family/couple and group psychotherapy sessions, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, care coordination, and referral services,. The position will work in collaboration with Callen-Lorde medical staff and consulting psychiatrists, as a member of our multi-disciplinary team. The overall goal of the position is to ensure that patients’ psychosocial needs are addressed and met.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling and NYS licensure – LMSW/LCSW.
