CHIEF MENTAL HEALTH OFFICER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is seeking a dynamic, innovative individual to be a thought leader and strategic planner for its mental health practices in a rapidly changing health care environment As member of the organization’s Senior Management team, the Chief Mental Health Officer (CMHO) will lead, plan, organize the provision of mental health and related services in response to community need in all of Callen-Lorde’s sites, including our current Office of Mental Health Article 31-licensed program, integrated mental health assessment, referral, and short-term services provided in our current Department of Health Article 28-licensed facility, and as we continue to grow services in our new facilities, including our next new site, slated to open in the South Bronx in 2016. Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Developing and managing external relationships, specifically including the development of meaningful strategic partnerships with other service organizations in order to best ensure access to LGBTQ-competent and sensitive mental health, social services, and concrete services for the greater New York metropolitan region.
  • In conjunction with clinicians, departmental managers and the Director of Psychiatry, further refine the organization’s approach to care, potentially including specialization in certain treatment modalities, with a particular focus on exploring trauma-informed care models.
  • Working to align Callen-Lorde’s mental health practice with the movement toward value-based payment and integrated care coordination services. And in conjunction with our Finance and Billing departments, serving as the primary clinical liaison to managed care entities serving patients with mental health needs.
  • Develop Callen-Lorde’s mental health-related policy positions with the Executive Director, and work with the Communications team to share those positions with policymakers, the media and the community at large.

 

Work Schedule/Salary/Benefits

This is a full-time position and will include some weekly evening hours. Qualifications

  • Licensure and certification in New York State as LCSW –R , Clinical Psychologist, or Psychiatrist.
  • Minimum ten years supervisory experience in a health care, mental health, HIV and/or social services setting, including knowledge of regulatory oversight of article 31 and/or Article 28 licensed settings or comparable experience in other states.
  • Extensive experience working with LGBTQ communities and those living with HIV.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills as well as ability to toggle between ‘big picture’ strategic planning and the ongoing operational needs of mental health practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic organizational relationships and to participate in large-scale planning efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate with different treatment modalities/approaches to mental health care.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and computer literacy (internet, PC, Excel, Word).
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required.

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our Senior Management team. The CTO will provide direction and supervision to Callen-Lorde’s IT and HIT departments and foster the health clinic’s technological development. Responsibilities will include evaluating existing technology, selecting, budgeting and implementing new technology to support strategic initiatives. The CTO will collaborate with IT management consultants to develop and achieve strategic goals and improve efficiency in Callen-Lorde’s technological systems and programs. The CTO will serve as the health clinic’s liaison to external IT communities, ensuring the center’s ability to participate in varied incentive programs, and be attuned to external developments in funding opportunities, technologies, and best practices.

Callen-Lorde is open Monday – Saturday. This is a full-time position. Occasional evenings and weekends will be required. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Computer science, business, or equivalent certifications or technical expertise).
  • 5+ years management experience with computer information systems including security, networking, server, software application management and support within a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership in IT and knowledge of leading technology and service approaches to both internal and external delivery in a health care setting.
  • Experience with Federally Qualified Health Centers, NYS Article 28 and NYS Article 31 clinics preferred.

  • Experience and solid grasp of general healthcare IT, systems integration, interfaces, data management, business intelligence, and analytics (NextGen, KBM, EHR Systems, SQL, MS SQL, etc.)

  • Experience in strategic technology planning, execution, and policy development.

DIRECTOR, OF PREVENTION AND OUTREACH

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center seeks a dedicated, flexible individual to join our management team as the Director of Prevention and Outreach (Director). The Director’s key areas of responsibility are administrative management of CLCHC’s Prevention and Outreach Department including Prevention and Outreach staff, HIV/HCV/STI counseling and testing, integration and implementation of biomedical interventions (nPEP, PrEP), counseling, behavioral health/sexual health interventions, research projects, community outreach, prevention related programs, events and activities, management of HIV prevention programs, deliverables and reporting and budget monitoring of all Prevention and Outreach contracts and grants. This includes collaborating with colleagues to develop programmatic goals, oversee implementation and manage evaluation plans related to the provision of these services. In addition, participation in the CLCHC management and operations structure to facilitate, promote and assure appropriate access and growth of all Prevention and Outreach related services is required. The Director of Prevention and Outreach will continue to explore and pursue the continued expansion of CLCHC’s Prevention and Outreach services and contracts portfolio.

GYNECOLOGIST – PART-TIME

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking an experienced, dedicated, part-time gynecology clinician (MD, DO) to join our team in providing gynecological care to a diverse patient population, including adults and adolescents living with HIV. This provider will perform annual testing and exams, diagnose of illnesses, pap test procedures, gynecologic colposcopies, as well as High Resolutions Anoscopy (HRA). In addition, you will participate in our newly established alternative insemination program.

LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER (LCSW)/ MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR (LMSW) ASSESSMENT AND PSYCHOTHERAPY

Position Summary

The Social Worker will divide their time between two functions:

1) Providing individual, family/couple and group psychotherapy sessions.
2) Conducting assessments for our medical patients seeking mental health services, providing crisis intervention, and referring patients within Callen-Lorde or externally as appropriate.

The position will work in collaboration with Callen-Lorde medical staff and consulting psychiatrists, as a member of our multi-disciplinary team. The overall goal of the position is to ensure that patients are thoroughly assessed and referred to the appropriate services, and that patients’ psychosocial needs are addressed and met.

Callen-Lorde is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position including some evening hours. Weekend hours may also be required. MANAGER OF MEDICAID FACILITATED ENROLLMENT

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated, flexible individual to join our staff as the Manager of Medicaid Facilitated Enrollment. The Facilitated Enroller Manager will serve as the primary contact to the New York State Department of Health regarding all issues related to the facilitated enrollment contract. The Manager oversees six facilitated enrollers and provides ongoing supervision. The Manager will establish and maintain strong connections with partnering agencies. The Facilitated Enroller Manager conducts all quality assurance functions to ensure weekly and monthly goals are being met. The Manager of Facilitated Enrollment will outreach to new enrollment sites and represent Callen-Lorde at community events.

PSYCHIATRIST/PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER

SQL REPORT WRITER

Position Summary

The SQL Report Writer performs standard and ad-hoc reporting and data analysis for the provision of healthcare services at Callen-Lorde. Utilizing specialized reporting tools, this individual will develop reports with managers and clinical staff for internal and external clients targeting data in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) database and other sources. This individual will also propose new reports as needed, and will provide guidance to staff in running and interpreting such reports. The SQL Report Writer will also develop and/or assist in the development of database interfaces with external business partners and public health agencies and will provide technical guidance to managers regarding the utilization of information technology in streamlining clinical and business tasks.

Work Schedule/Salary/Benefits

Callen-Lorde is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position with normal business hours (9:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday – Friday). Occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends will be required. Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of SQL required.
  • Willingness to process data quality issues for consistent reporting, design and lead reporting projects involving end users.
  • 2-5 years of experience with report development tools (SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) 2008 R2 or newer or Crystal Reports XI or newer).
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry preferred, especially EHR/EMR and practice management data analysis, clinical databases, diagnostic coding, and relevant data privacy laws.
  • Design and development experience using Microsoft’s Business intelligence stack preferred (SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SharePoint reporting/dashboards, PowerView, and Excel PowerPivot.)
  • Excellent business writing and technical documentation skills.
  • Strong oral communication skills.

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for assisting primary care providers — physicians and mid-level providers by providing general nursing care, patient screening, and clinical support. This position reports to the Nursing Supervisor.

Work Schedule/Salary/Benefits

The Health Center is open Monday through Saturday. Two evening shifts per week are required. Salary will depend on experience and will be accompanied by an excellent benefits package, including individual medical and dental insurance, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, generous vacation/leave time, and optional 401K/403B plans.

Qualifications

  • New York State LPN License.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong Computer Competency.
  • Experience serving Callen-Lorde’s target populations preferred.
  • Two years experience in an out-patient clinical setting preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Ability to work within team-based structure.

PATIENT CARE ASSOCIATE

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking exceptionally friendly and detail oriented individuals to join our staff as a Patient Care Associates (PCA). PCAs are a part of our dynamic medical team and work in collaboration with our nursing and provider staff to ensure optimal patient care. The PCA is responsible for providing front desk reception and maintaining an efficient flow of patients, visitors, and phone calls into the various systems of Callen-Lorde. PCAs providing administrative support to the clinical staff as well as assisting with the collection of patient registration, billing and payment data. The PCA is a primary customer service contact with our patients, therefore, must be courteous, patient and professional at all times.

Callen-Lorde is open Monday through Saturday. Two evening shifts per week and one Saturday per month are required. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • BS/BA degree in a Social Service related discipline preferred.
  • At least 2 years experience in a medical services environment, specifically with front desk activities.
  • Strong computer competency (MS Office, Electronic Medical Record).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal & NY State patient privacy regulations/laws a plus.
  • Strong Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde.
  • Schedule flexibility a must.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and helpful under stress.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with LGBT, HIV and health-related issues and community resources.
