DENTAL HYGIENIST, PART-TIME

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist to provide quality dental care services to patients under the general supervision of our dentists and using established dental hygiene procedures. The Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing preventative dental services to patients in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner. The Dental Hygienist is expected to assess the dental condition and needs of patients using approved screening procedures, and provide recommended treatment while maintaining a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and function as part of a care-giving team. The Dental Hygienist operates under Callen-Lorde’s protocols and under the supervision of the Dental Director.

Schedule

The position is part-time and will only consist of one scheduled day per week (Tuesdays, 8:30am –4:30pm). Additional hours may be considered based on the needs of the dental clinic.

Qualifications

  • Current NYS required Licensure/Certification/Registration.
  • CPR certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume clinic.
  • Ability to work within team-based structure.
  • Strong computer competency.
  • Experience serving Callen-Lorde’s target populations preferred +/or a strong commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde.

HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROJECT MANAGER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated, flexible individual to join our team as the HIT Project Manager. The HIT Project Manager (HITPM) will be responsible for overseeing the rollout of multiple projects, across the organization, utilizing electronic medical records (EMR), technology infrastructure and analytics, Smartsheet and/or Microsoft Project software.  Primary responsibilities include planning and evaluating projects, ensuring projects are on schedule, assigning duties to staff members, implementation of projects and collaborating with managers.  This person will also be responsible for report writing and reviewing budgeted project expenditures.  The goals of the HITPM are to foster continuous improvement within the growing organization, increase organizational and staff skills in group development of interdisciplinary work products and to institutionalize sound project management methodology throughout the organization.  The HITPM will report to the Senior Director of Innovation, Informatics and Quality.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with normal business hours (9:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday – Friday). Occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Management or healthcare related field and a minimum of 5-7 years of project management experience.
  • Healthcare IT experience required.
  • Project Management certification preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers across multiple departments.
  • Ability to manage ambiguous situations and adapt to constantly changing priorities in managing a wide range of projects.
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with database systems and MS Project, MS Suite, as well as knowledge and experience working with electronic medical records systems preferred
  • Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to translate findings into action.
  • Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde Community Health Center.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities.
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks.
  • Ability to work independently yet be team-focused.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and helpful under stress.
