CLINICAL DIRECTOR OF HIV SERVICES – MEDICAL PROVIDER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking an experienced and dedicated medical clinician (MD, DO, NP) to join our team as the Clinical Director of HIV Services. The Clinical Director will provide HIV and primary care services to a panel of diverse patients. In addition to this, the Clinical Director will have a portion of administrative time set aside for coordinating the clinical and organizational aspects of HIV services provided to Callen-Lorde patients. Responsibilities will include developing clinical policies and procedures for HIV services, standardizing medical record documentation and templates to monitor and improve the quality of care measurement capability and provide data for relevant private and government grant deliverables. The Clinical Director will also ensure that the provision of HIV services at Callen-Lorde is consistent with NCQA PCMH standards and guidelines.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position that will require three morning and daytime shifts, two evening shifts, and occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • New York State Certification/Licensure and current New York State Registration (MD, DO, or NP)
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
  • HIVMA or AAHIVM certification
  • 5+ years of experience in providing HIV primary care.
  • Experience in sexually transmitted infection screening, treatment, and education
  • Demonstrated knowledge of LGBT health related concerns and experience in providing medical care in LGBT communities
  • Commitment to community based health care services
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde.

DENTAL ASSISTANT

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking an exceptionally friendly individual with excellent dental clinical skills to join our staff as a Dental Assistant. Dental Assistants provide clinical support to dentists and hygienists. Responsibilities include chair side assistance; radiology and laboratory assistance and preparation of patients. Duties also include monitoring and stocking supplies, infection control and room maintenance. Additionally, Dental Assistants are responsible for ensuring appropriate and efficient patient flow for the Dental Providers.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde is open Monday through Saturday. Evening hours and some Saturdays will be required.

Qualifications

  • Dental Assistant Certification
  • At least 2 years of experience providing clinical support in dental programs, including experience with HIV-related dental services, additional experience is preferred
  • Strong computer competency (MS Office, Electronic Medical Record, Practice Management software)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of Federal & NY State patient privacy regulations/laws
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, in addition to Certification as a Dental Assistant

DENTAL HYGIENIST

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist to provide quality dental care services to patients under the general supervision of our dentists and using established dental hygiene procedures. The Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing preventative dental services to patients in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner. The Dental Hygienist is expected to assess the dental condition and needs of patients using approved screening procedures, and provide recommended treatment while maintaining a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and function as part of a care-giving team. The Dental Hygienist operates under Callen-Lorde’s protocols and under the supervision of the Dental Director.

Schedule

The position is part-time and will only consist of one scheduled day per week (Tuesdays, 8:30am –4:30pm). Additional hours may be considered based on the needs of the dental clinic.

Qualifications

  • Current NYS required Licensure/Certification/Registration.
  • CPR certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume clinic.
  • Ability to work within team-based structure.
  • Strong computer competency.

GENERAL DENTIST

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking an experienced, dedicated, reliable General Dentist to join our team in providing comprehensive and appropriate oral health services to a diverse patient population, including those living with HIV/AIDS. In this role, you will perform routine preventative and maintenance dentistry, as well as complex treatments for advanced oral diseases and injuries of teeth and gums. This person will provide emergency dental services, including diagnosis and treatment plans, general restorative procedures, crown and bridge construction, removable prosthetics, uncomplicated endodontics, minor oral surgery and initiate/interpret radiographs. In addition, the dentist will administer and prescribe anesthetics and medications, refer patients for specialty care to other clinic programs or outside agencies, conduct follow-up patient care, provide patient education and provide supervision to Dental Hygienist(s) and Dental Resident(s) as assigned.

Schedule

The Health Center is open Monday through Saturday. Weekly evenings and rotating Saturday hours are required.

Qualifications

  • New York State Licensure and current New York State Registration
  • 3-5 years experience providing care to diverse populations/underserved populations required
  • Current Board Certification and DEA Certification required

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (SPANISH SPEAKING REQUIRED – MANHATTAN & BRONX LOCATIONS)

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a full time bi-lingual Licensed Practical Nurse as we open a new site in the Bronx, but will also work in our main facility located in Manhattan as directed by the management team.  The LPN will be responsible for assisting primary care providers — physicians and mid-level providers — in providing patient care by providing general nursing, assistance with triage, patient service and clinical support. MEDICAL SERVICES MANAGER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated and data-oriented individual to join our staff as a Medical Services Manager. The Medical Services Manager will be an integral part of the medicine department leadership team, and will work closely with the Directors of Medicine, Nursing, Clinical Operations and with individual medical providers. The Manager will develop and implement strategies, policies, and operational systems to effectively optimize resources and address patient needs. Additionally, the Manager will monitor visit volume and identify opportunities to maximize revenue through appointment utilization and billing practices.  The Manager will also develop corrective plans to improve outcomes and service delivery.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position with normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00pm). Occasional evenings will be required.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in business or healthcare administration OR clinical background as an NP,PA or RN strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of practice management/administration experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, evaluate, and act on analytical information.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced medical environment.
  • Strong computer competency, including knowledge of Electronic Medical Records, computerized appointment/billing programs and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with LGBT, HIV, and other health related issues and community resources.

SQL REPORT WRITER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking an SQL Report Writer to perform standard and ad-hoc reporting and data analysis based on the provision of healthcare services at Callen-Lorde for internal and external clients. Working with managers and clinical staff this individual will gather report requirements and utilizing specialized reporting tools, develop reports based on data in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) database and other sources. This individual will also propose new reports as needed, and will provide guidance to staff in running and interpreting such reports.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s Administrative Office is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position with normal business hours (9:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday – Friday).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree – Information Systems or related field preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL required
  • 2-5 years of experience with report development tools (SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) 2008 R2 or newer required
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry required, especially EHR/EMR and practice management data analysis, clinical databases, diagnostic coding, and relevant data privacy regulations
  • Design and development experience using Microsoft’s Business intelligence stack preferred (SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SharePoint reporting/dashboards, PowerView, and Excel PowerPivot)
  • Commitment to data quality and consistent reporting
  • Ability to design and lead reporting projects involving end users
  • Experience with Crystal Reports XI or newer preferred
  • Excellent business writing and technical documentation skills
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Sensitivity to LGBT, HIV, and diverse communities required
  • Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks, and excellent attention to detail
