CONTROLLER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a seasoned, dynamic administrator with strong knowledge of healthcare financial management to provide leadership to our growing Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The Controller is responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting processes at Callen-Lorde. These responsibilities include, but not limited to development and oversight of internal controls, policies and procedures, monthly closing entries, A/P, payroll, cash deposits, grants accounting, budget development and internal financial reports. The Controller serves as the primary liaison with the auditors. This person will manage a small staff and will report directly to the Senior Director of Finance.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s Administrative Site in Chelsea is open Monday through Friday.  This is a full-time position with normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 5:00pm). Occasional evening and Saturday hours will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Finance or Accounting and CPA certified (or equivalent experience in senior accounting roles).
  • Ten plus years of financial management experience.
  • Managing staff in the areas of payroll, A/P, general ledger entry, grant vouchering and purchasing
  • Healthcare industry and FQHC experience a plus.
  • Federal, State and Local grant knowledge a plus.
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and Access) required.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills as this is a highly visible role within the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Public accounting experience a plus.

DIRECTOR OF HEALTH OUTREACH TO TEENS (HOTT) PROGRAM

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is seeking a dedicated individual to join our management team as the Director of the Health Outreach to Teens (HOTT). The HOTT Program provides no– and low-cost medical and mental health care to LGBTQ youth, ages 13-24. The Director is responsible for the administrative operations, program development, quality management, marketing/outreach, and funding of the HOTT program. To this end, the Director oversees day-to-day clinical and administrative operations, both on-site and on the mobile medical unit. The Director leads the staff in the ongoing development, evaluation, and improvement of the program; coordinates quality assurance efforts in conjunction with clinical staff and other Callen-Lorde managers; coordinates outreach efforts to expand knowledge of HOTT within both the youth services community and communities of young people; and, provides leadership and prospecting for program funding, as well as management of funding contracts.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position with normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 5:00pm). Occasional evening hours will be required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work or public health preferred; BS or BA in health administration or related field required
  • 5+ years of experience in social work or human services field. Health care experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional experience providing services to at risk adolescents, including assessment
  • Experience in non-profit management with a proven track record in successful implementation/development of programs for special needs populations
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience with strong skills in grant writing/reporting, program development, policy and procedures.
  • Experience managing multiple government contracts (AIDS Institute/Ryan White, and Family Planning/Title X)
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Possess the ability to drive the initiatives of the organization, interact effectively with a diverse staff and be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment

  • HIVMA or AAHIVM certification strongly preferred

HIV SPECIALIST MEDICAL PROVIDER – CALLEN-LORDE BRONX

Position Summary

Qualifications

  • New York State Certification/Licensure (MD)
  • New York State Registration (MD)
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. HIVMA or AAHIVM certification strongly preferred
  • 2+ year’s experience in HIV primary care. Experience in sexually transmitted infection screening, treatment, and education
  • Experience in Sexual Health and in screening, treating & patient education in sexually transmitted infection within a harm reduction model of care preferred
  • Experience in HIV primary care and the ability to work with some patients with dual HIV-mental health diagnoses.  (Minimum of 2 years)
  • DEA Controlled Substances Registration Certificate

HUMAN RESOURCES RECRUITER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a Human Resources professional to join our team and support our growing organization. The HR Recruiter will work closely with Callen-Lorde’s Management team and perform the full cycle of recruitment for multiple sites. The Recruiter will work to acquire talented, mission driven candidates for a broad range of healthcare positions including administrative/service orientated roles, clinical professionals and Management level positions. The Recruiter will redesign/automate Callen-Lorde’s hiring process and implement an online application and screening process. NURSING MANAGER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a Nursing Manager who will work directly with the Director of Nursing to oversee and supervise nursing services at Callen-Lorde. In this role, the Nursing Manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth patient flow in the medical clinic. Responsibilities will include supervising the Nursing Coordinators, managing schedules and monitoring the performance of 30+ LPNs, MAs, Phlebotomists and Pharmacy Technicians. Additionally, the Nursing Manager will support the Director of Nursing in the development of department protocols, policies, procedures and standards of care. Additionally, the Nursing Manager will support general clinic operations by participating in various operations meetings and initiatives.

Qualifications

PATIENT CARE ASSOCIATE

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking exceptionally friendly and detail oriented individuals to join our staff as Patient Care Associates (PCA). PCAs are a part of our dynamic medical team and work in collaboration with our nursing and provider staff to ensure optimal patient care. The PCA is responsible for providing front desk reception and maintaining an efficient flow of patients, visitors, and phone calls into the various systems of Callen-Lorde. PCAs provide administrative support to the clinical staff as well as assisting with the collection of patient registration, billing and payment data. The PCA is a primary customer service contact with our patients, therefore, must be courteous, patient and professional at all times.

Qualifications

SOCIAL WORKER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a Social Worker to provide individual, family/couple and group psychotherapy sessions, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, care coordination, and referral services,. The position will work in collaboration with Callen-Lorde medical staff and consulting psychiatrists, as a member of our multi-disciplinary team. The overall goal of the position is to ensure that patients’ psychosocial needs are addressed and met.  The social worker may be required to provide therapy on a walk-in basis in our Article 31 clinic, rather than having a set patient schedule and/or providing short/long term therapy depending on the needs of the clinic.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde Mental Health Clinic is open Monday through Friday. This is a full-time position which will include some evening hours.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work and NYS licensure – LMSW, LCSW (preferred)
  • 1-2 or more years post-Master’s clinical experience working with both adult individuals and groups preferred
  • Experience working in New York State Article 31 outpatient practice setting preferred
  • Knowledge of LGBT- and HIV-related health/mental health issues and concerns
  • Computer literacy required.
  • The ability to maintain on-going documentation in an electronic charting system
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
