DENTAL HYGIENIST – PART-TIME

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist to provide quality dental care services to our patients. The Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing preventative dental services to patients in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner. The Dental Hygienist is expected to assess the dental condition and needs of patients using approved screening procedures and provide recommended treatment while maintaining a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards. This is a part-time position.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a part-time position and will only consist of one scheduled day per week (Tuesdays 8:30am–4:30pm).

Qualifications

  • Current NYS required Licensure/Certification/Registration

DENTAL ASSISTANT – TEMPORARY

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated and customer service oriented individual with excellent dental clinical skills to join our staff as a Dental Assistant.  Dental Assistants provide clinical support to dentists and hygienists.  Responsibilities include chair side assistance; radiology and laboratory assistance and preparation of patients.  Duties also include monitoring and stocking supplies, infection control and room maintenance.  Additionally, Dental Assistants are responsible for ensuring appropriate and efficient patient flow for the Dental Providers.  This is a temporary position.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with three 8:00-5:00pm shifts and two 12:00-9:00pm shifts.

Qualifications

  • Dental Assistant Certification Required

DIRECTOR OF PSYCHIATRY

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking an experienced, dedicated, full-time psychiatrist (MD) to serve as the Director of Psychiatry, overseeing psychiatry services within the Behavioral Health Department. This position requires demonstrated competence in meeting the behavioral health needs for the LGBT community and persons living with HIV and compliance with NYS OMH, DOH and OASAS regulations. This position will provide collaborative oversight of clinic operations, as well as supervise and directly provide psychiatric assessment and psychopharmacological treatment of patients.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position with morning, afternoon and occasional evening shifts.

Qualifications

  • New York State Certification/Licensure and current New York State Registration
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry
  • Experience supervising psychiatry staff including psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners required; management and quality assurance experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated direct operational and finance experience in a behavioral health clinic required; must have experience ensuring patient and community access to care, meeting of agency quality goals, and ensuring productivity benchmarks are achieved.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing sensitive, culturally competent psychiatric care to LGBT persons and persons living with HIV, especially disenfranchised persons and persons of color.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with the substance use concerns of dually diagnosed LGBT persons.
  • Innovative, strengths based approach to working with acute and chronic behavioral health issues in an outpatient setting, with demonstrated skill in reducing occurrence of inpatient hospital stays.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative, team based behavioral health treatment valuing the input and perspective of the full array of behavioral health professionals.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and participate in multiple clinical teams.
  • Commitment to community based health and behavioral health services.

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS MANAGER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a seasoned Human Resources professional to join our growing, dynamic team.  The Employee Relations Manager will be responsible for the development and application of best practices in Employee Relations (ER) and Labor Relations (LR) policies at Callen-Lorde.  The Manager will provide counsel and direction to department leaders on a broad range of employee issues, including interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement, reward and recognition programs, disciplinary actions. The Manager will work with management, union representatives and staff to promote positive employee relations.  The Manager will also participate in other general HR functions including recruiting, training, diversity and inclusion activities and benefits administration.  We are looking for a mission driven candidate with an interest in LGBT health care and a commitment to non-profit work.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00pm).  Occasional evenings will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or relevant field, Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Human Resources role
  • Extensive employee and labor relations experience, preferably in a union setting
  • Demonstrated experience and skill in conducting workplace investigations
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining processes: grievances and contract negotiations
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE – BRONX

Callen-Lorde is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to work at our Bronx clinic. The LPN will also rotate to our main facility located in Chelsea Manhattan on occasion. PATIENT CARE ASSOCIATE

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking an exceptionally friendly and detail oriented individual to join our staff as a Patient Care Associate (PCA). PCAs are a part of our dynamic medical team and work in collaboration with our medical staff to ensure optimal patient care. The PCA is responsible for providing front desk reception and maintaining an efficient flow of patients, visitors, and phone calls into the various systems of Callen-Lorde. PCAs provide administrative support to the clinical staff as well as assist with the collection of patient registration, billing and payment data. The PCA is a primary customer service contact with our patients, therefore, must be courteous, patient and professional at all times.

PATIENT EXPERIENCE MANAGER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a exceptional customer service oriented individual to join our team as a Patient Experience Manager (PEM). The PEM is responsible for the overall service quality at Callen-Lorde. They will monitor, improve, and establish customer service standards across all departments. The PEM will intervene and coordinate resolutions for patient-initiated complaints. The PEM will also provide education and de-escalation trainings for staff. The PEM will periodically collect patient feedback through surveys and facilitate customer service improvement initiatives. The PEM will also lead the Patient Support Committee in routine case-conferences of patient events and facilitate interventions as recommended by the team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or Mental Health field of study required. LCSW, LMSW, or LMHC licensure preferred

PATIENT NAVIGATOR

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated, flexible individual to join our staff as a Patient Navigator. The Patient Navigator is responsible for providing field based case management and adherence support services to HIV-positive individuals who require help accessing medical services.  The Patient Navigator will work in a team setting headed by a Care Coordinator, in conjunction with medical and mental health providers. This is a field based position working with patients in their homes and accompanying them to medical and support services appointments. The goals of patient navigation activities are to ensure HIV-positive patients are linked to care in a timely and coordinated manner and to maintain patients in care via navigation, coordination of medical and social services and provision of support and coaching. Through teaching and supporting treatment (medication) adherence, patients should ultimately become self-sufficient and able to manage their medical and social needs autonomously.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with normal business hours (9:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday – Friday). Occasional evenings may be required.

Qualifications

  • College degree (BA/BS) in health/social services or the equivalent preferred or HS Diploma and prior experience working in Case Management with HIV and LGBT populations will be considered.
  • Experience in medical/social services and/ or entitlements work a plus.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Familiarity with LGBT, HIV and health-related issues and community resources.
  • Strong computer competency, including knowledge of Electronic Medical Records, Computerized Appointment/Billing Programs and other Microsoft Office Programs.

REGISTERED NURSE, SCREENING

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a Screening Nurse (RN) who will be responsible for assisting primary care providers by answering and evaluating patient phone calls and patient walk-ins for urgent medical matters, triaging patients to urgent care, and referring patients to the ER or other facilities. The RN will assist providers by providing education, adherence and case management support to patients. Other responsibilities will include following up on calls from the laboratory regarding alert values, providing education, information and support to patients regarding a variety of medical issues, including HIV and HIV adherence, and providing clinical support during patient care sessions when needed.

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position that will require three morning and daytime shifts, two evening shifts and rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • New York State RN Certification/Licensure
  • New York State RN Registration
  • Minimum 1-2 years of acute or ambulatory care experience is required. Experience in ER, telephone triage, public/community health care setting is preferred
