EMPLOYEE RELATIONS MANAGER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a seasoned Human Resources professional to join our growing, dynamic team.  The Employee Relations Manager will be responsible for the development and application of best practices in Employee Relations (ER) and Labor Relations (LR) policies at Callen-Lorde.  The Manager will provide counsel and direction to department leaders on a broad range of employee issues, including interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement, reward and recognition programs, disciplinary actions. The Manager will work with management, union representatives and staff to promote positive employee relations.  The Manager will also participate in other general HR functions including recruiting, training, diversity and inclusion activities and benefits administration.  We are looking for a mission driven candidate with an interest in LGBT health care and a commitment to non-profit work.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00pm).  Occasional evenings will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or relevant field, Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Human Resources role
  • Extensive employee and labor relations experience, preferably in a union setting
  • Demonstrated experience and skill in conducting workplace investigations
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining processes: grievances and contract negotiations
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws
  • Knowledge of benefits and recruitment strategies preferred
  • Strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with LGBT and non-profit organizations strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with diverse populations

HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROJECT MANAGER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated, flexible individual to join our team as the HIT Project Manager (HIT PM). The HIT PM will be responsible for overseeing the rollout of multiple projects, across the organization, utilizing electronic medical records (EMR), technology infrastructure and analytics, Smartsheet and/or Microsoft Project software. Primary responsibilities include planning and evaluating projects, ensuring projects are on schedule, assigning duties to staff members, implementation of projects and collaborating with managers. This person will also be responsible for report writing and reviewing budgeted project expenditures. The goals of the HIT PM are to foster continuous improvement within the growing organization, increase organizational and staff skills in group development of interdisciplinary work products and to institutionalize sound project management methodology throughout the organization.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s Administrative Office is open Monday through Friday. This is a full-time position with normal business hours (9:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday – Friday). Occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Management or healthcare related field and a minimum of 5-7 years of project management experience.
  • Healthcare IT experience required.
  • Project Management certification preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers across multiple departments.
  • Ability to manage ambiguous situations and adapt to constantly changing priorities in managing a wide range of projects.
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with database systems and MS Project, MS Suite, as well as knowledge and experience working with electronic medical records systems preferred
  • Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to translate findings into action.

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a friendly, team oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic nursing team. The LPN is responsible for assisting primary care providers – physicians and mid-level providers by providing general nursing care, patient screening, and clinical support. The LPN will also provide patient education and medication administration (including injections). The LPN is also expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and functioning as part of a care-giving team.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position that will require three morning and daytime shifts, two evening shifts and rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • New York State LPN License and current registration
  • Current CPR and Infection Control certification
  • 2+ years of experience in an out-patient clinical setting preferred
  • Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record
  • Strong computer competency
  • Experience working with LGBT and HIV + populations strongly preferred
  • Ability to work within team-based structure
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred

MEDICAL RECORDS ASSISTANT

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking an exceptionally friendly, organized individual with computer proficiency and administrative experience to join our Medical Records department.  The Medical Records Assistant is part of our dynamic team and works in collaboration with our Patient Administrative Services department.  We are launching a new program to make Callen-Lorde’s medical records paperless.  The Assistant will be responsible for maintaining organizing, prepping and scanning documents. The Assistant will also provide administrative support to the Medical Records staff when needed including making copies and quality checking of filed documents.

Schedule

Work Schedule/Salary:

Callen-Lorde is open Monday through Friday.  The work schedule for this position will be 9:00-5:00pm, Monday-Friday.

Qualifications

  • One year of administrative experience preferred
