DENTAL ASSISTANT – TEMPORARY

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated and customer service oriented individual with excellent dental clinical skills to join our staff as a Dental Assistant.  Dental Assistants provide clinical support to dentists and hygienists.  Responsibilities include chair side assistance; radiology and laboratory assistance and preparation of patients.  Duties also include monitoring and stocking supplies, infection control and room maintenance.  Additionally, Dental Assistants are responsible for ensuring appropriate and efficient patient flow for the Dental Providers.  This is a temporary position.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position with morning, afternoon and evening hours.  Note: This is a temporary position and therefore will not be accompanied by our benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Dental Assistant Certification Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience providing clinical support in dental programs, including experience with HIV-related dental services, additional experience is preferred
  • Strong computer competency (MS Office, Electronic Medical Record, Practice Management software)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS MANAGER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a seasoned Human Resources professional to join our growing, dynamic team.  The Employee Relations Manager will be responsible for the development and application of best practices in Employee Relations (ER) and Labor Relations (LR) policies at Callen-Lorde.  The Manager will provide counsel and direction to department leaders on a broad range of employee issues, including interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement, reward and recognition programs, disciplinary actions. The Manager will work with management, union representatives and staff to promote positive employee relations.  The Manager will also participate in other general HR functions including recruiting, training, diversity and inclusion activities and benefits administration.  We are looking for a mission driven candidate with an interest in LGBT health care and a commitment to non-profit work.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00pm).  Occasional evenings will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or relevant field, Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Human Resources role
  • Extensive employee and labor relations experience, preferably in a union setting
  • Demonstrated experience and skill in conducting workplace investigations
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining processes: grievances and contract negotiations
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws
  • Knowledge of benefits and recruitment strategies preferred
  • Strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail.

FACILITIES DIRECTOR

Position Summary

Callen–Lorde is seeking an experienced facilities professional to oversee the provision of services to our growing organization that has several medical clinics and administrative sites. In this role, the Facilities Director will oversee facilities operations services and maintenance, workplace environmental health & safety, regulatory compliance, and security. The Facilities Director will ensure that all staff have a safe, clean, healthy and comfortable work environment. The Facilities Director will also have oversight of Callen-Lorde’s mobile medical van. Additionally, the Facilities Director will lead facilities relocation and expansion projects of considerable scope and complexity. In this role, the Facilities Director will also manage relationships with external contractors and ensure all vendors institute effective systems for logging and tracking of needed inspections, maintenance schedules, and repair needs. The Facilities Director will also take the lead in communicating timelines for resolution of problems with staff. Callen-Lorde is looking for a candidate that is dedicated to our mission, has strong project management experience and exceptional leadership skills to manage a small team of facilities/maintenance staff.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position, and the facilities Director will generally work Monday through Friday. This position will include some early morning, evening, and occasional weekend hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Facilities Management or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
  • Fire/Emergency Safety Director Certification
  • 5+ years of experience in building/property management
  • Experience in construction project management required
  • Medical facility experience and/or familiarity with infection control guidelines preferred
  • Professional certification, affiliation, and/or membership(s) in the field of facilities management, Building Owners and Directors Association (BOMA), desired
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to track metrics
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to LGBT, HIV, and diverse communities required.

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking an exceptionally friendly and organized individual to join our team as a Human Resources Assistant.  Ideally, the individual will have a strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources and be committed to the mission of Callen-Lorde.  The HR Assistant will participate in all areas of Human Resources and provide administrative support to the department.  Duties will include:

  • Scheduling meetings and interviews, conducting reference checks and coordinating New Hire Orientation
  • Onboarding new employees, students, interns and volunteers
  • Managing the department’s calendar
  • Screening and triaging telephone calls, assisting employees with benefits and payroll related inquires
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the HR office’s equipment and supplies
  • Maintaining employee files, maintaining credentialing for clinical staff and additional HR admin tasks as assigned

Schedule

This is a full-time position with regular business hours.  Occasional evenings will be required

Qualifications

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a friendly, team oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic nursing team. The LPN is responsible for assisting primary care providers – physicians and mid-level providers by providing general nursing care, patient screening, and clinical support. The LPN will also provide patient education and medication administration (including injections). The LPN is also expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and functioning as part of a care-giving team.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position that will require three morning and daytime shifts, two evening shifts and rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • New York State LPN License and current registration
  • Current CPR and Infection Control certification
  • 2+ years of experience in an out-patient clinical setting preferred
  • Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record
  • Strong computer competency
