BILLING ASSOCIATE

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a friendly and organized individual with billing and data entry experience in medical settings to join our staff as a Billing Associate (BA). The BA is responsible for data entry and maintaining an efficient flow and accurate accounting of patients through the various medical, mental health and oral health services within Callen-Lorde. The BA must be courteous, patient, and professional at all times. Daily responsibilities will include patient accounts management, registration/data entry, financial screening, entitlements enrollment and referral, insurance verification, claims submission, re-billing/corrections, transaction adjustments, payment entry and reconciliation.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00pm).  Occasional evenings will be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, additional education preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in a medical services environment, specifically with Medicaid billing.
  • 2+ years experience of performing extensive data entry
  • Knowledge of Federal & NY State patient privacy regulations/laws.
  • Evening availability/schedule flexibility a must.

CASE MANAGER – HOTT

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated, flexible individual to join our staff as a Case Manager (CM) within our Health Outreach to Teens (HOTT) Program. HOTT provides low- and no-cost medical and mental health care to LGBTQ and homeless youth, ages 13-24. This position will involve both onsite and field based medical case management and supportive services to young people, with a focus on STI/HIV prevention & screening, Transgender Care, and HIV Care. The CM will work closely with the medical team to ensure that the biopsychosocial continuum of care needs of HOTT clients are identified, accessed, coordinated, and monitored. The CM will accompany patients to appointments on an as needed basis. The CM plays a critical role in ensuring that HOTT patients achieve adherence to primary care recommendations and successfully transition to adult systems of care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health/social services preferred. High School Diploma or prior experience required.

CLINICAL SITE MANAGER – CALLEN-LORDE BRONX

Position Summary

The Clinical Site Manager Bronx (CSMB) will partner with the Administrative Operations Manager and the lead Physician and oversee the delivery of clinical services at Callen-Lorde’s Bronx clinic. The CSMB will also be involved in the selection, schedule and performance monitoring of medical staff, administrative staff, and the overall quality of clinical services. In addition, the CSMB will supervise the nursing team and provide direct care to patients including, but not limited to, performing triage and stand-alone appointments within their scope of practice. The CSMB will also develop protocols, policies, procedures and standards of care. Additionally, the CSMB will support general clinic operations by participating in various operations meetings and initiatives.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00pm). Occasional evenings will be required.

Qualifications

  • New York State Licensure and current registration as an RN, NP or PA – only NYS Licensed Individuals will be considered

DATA PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Callen-Lorde is seeking a detail oriented individual to join our staff as a Data Program Assistant (DPA). The DPA will enter all grant related data into relevant reporting systems (AIRS and eSHARE), internal trackers, and assure the quality and accuracy of this data. DIRECTOR OF PSYCHIATRY

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking an experienced, dedicated, full-time psychiatrist (MD) to serve as the Director of Psychiatry, overseeing psychiatry services within the Behavioral Health Department. This position requires demonstrated competence in meeting the behavioral health needs for the LGBT community and persons living with HIV and compliance with NYS OMH, DOH and OASAS regulations. This position will provide collaborative oversight of clinic operations, as well as supervise and directly provide psychiatric assessment and psychopharmacological treatment of patients.

Qualifications

  • New York State Certification/Licensure and current New York State Registration

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking an experienced and dedicated medical clinician (NP or PA) to join our team in providing medical services to young adults in our Health Outreach to Teens (HOTT) program. PATIENT NAVIGATOR – TEMPORARY

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated, flexible individual to join our staff as a Patient Navigator. The Patient Navigator is responsible for providing field based case management and adherence support services to HIV-positive individuals who require help accessing medical services.  The Patient Navigator will work in a team setting headed by a Care Coordinator, in conjunction with medical and mental health providers. This is a field based position working with patients in their homes and accompanying them to medical and support services appointments. The goals of patient navigation activities are to ensure HIV-positive patients are linked to care in a timely and coordinated manner and to maintain patients in care via navigation, coordination of medical and social services and provision of support and coaching. Through teaching and supporting treatment (medication) adherence, patients should ultimately become self-sufficient and able to manage their medical and social needs autonomously.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a Monday-Friday work schedule and some evening hours will be required. Please note this is a temporary position and will not be accompanied by a benefits package.

Qualifications

  • College degree (BA/BS) in health/social services or the equivalent preferred or HS Diploma and prior experience working in Case Management with HIV and LGBT populations will be considered.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated and flexible individual to join our staff as a Pharmacy Technician (PT). Responsibilities will include processing requests for prescription renewals, prior authorizations, and serving as a liaison between patients, medical providers and pharmacies.   • AAHIVM certification strongly preferred
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice required
  • 2+ years of experience in providing HIV primary care
  • Experience in sexually transmitted infection screening, treatment, and education

RETENTION & ADHERENCE PROGRAM CARE COORDINATOR

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as the Retention and Adherence Program Care Coordinator (RAP CC). The RAP CC will provide direct supervision to the RAP Specialists and Peers, including but not limited to: staff scheduling; providing weekly supervision; covering patient sessions for staff as needed; managing the RAP Specialists’ caseloads; consulting with staff on benefits support or patient concerns; providing performance feedback; and performing regular chart reviews. The RAP CC will also implement and direct quality improvement projects for the program. The RAP CC will review all documentation to assure the RAP is being implemented as funded. This candidate will also work closely with the Population Health team to ensure the appropriate data entry workflows are being followed as per the RAP contract.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This position may require travel between Callen-Lorde’s sites in Chelsea and in the Bronx. This is a full-time position that will require morning, daytime and evening shifts.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work preferred (Bachelor’s degree and/or extensive experience will be considered)
  • Experience supervising staff and/or being a team leader strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in social services, case management and/or entitlements work; specifically with TGNC, LGB, and HIV-affected communities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), transmission risks, and risk reduction theory.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, including but not limited to: communities of color, immigrant communities, TGNC and LGB communities, people living with SPMI diagnoses, and people with addiction histories.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and helpful under stress.
  • Ability to work within team-based structure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, time manage, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer competency, including knowledge of MS Office programs, internet-based research, and capacity to work with Electronic Medical Records and Computerized Appointment/Billing Programs.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde Community Health Center.
