LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN), NURSING COORDINATOR – CALLEN-LORDE BRONX

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as the Nursing Coordinator at our Bronx clinic. The Nursing Coordinator will oversee a small team of two LPNs and one Medical Assistant.  They will supervise the nursing team’s day-to-day functions while also providing patient care services and clinical support. The Nursing Coordinator will write staff evaluations and facilitate performance improvement initiatives. The Nursing Coordinator will also evaluate the process flow of the Bronx clinic and suggest changes to their supervisor to ensure the clinic is operating at an optimal level. The Nursing Coordinator is expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, including HIPAA privacy standards, ensuring patient confidentiality while functioning as a part of a care-giving team.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s Bronx Clinic is open Monday through Friday. This is a full-time position that will require three morning and daytime shifts and two evening shifts.  The Nursing Coordinator will also have an occasional Saturday rotation at our Chelsea site.

Qualifications

  • New York State LPN License and current registration
  • Current CPR and Infection Control certification
  • 4+ years of experience in an out-patient clinical setting preferred
  • Previous management or leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record
  • Strong computer competency
  • Experience working with LGBT and HIV + populations strongly preferred
  • Ability to work within team-based structure
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a friendly, team oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic nursing team. The LPN is responsible for assisting primary care providers – physicians and mid-level providers by providing general nursing care, patient screening, and clinical support. The LPN will also provide patient education and medication administration (including injections). The LPN is also expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and functioning as part of a care-giving team.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position that will require three morning and daytime shifts, two evening shifts and rotating Saturdays.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a friendly, team oriented, certified Medical Assistant.  The Medical Assistant is responsible for preparing exam rooms, assisting Medical Providers, rooming patients, taking vital signs and providing clinical support. Medical Assistants also perform lab duties including venipuncture, processing of in-house lab tests, and packing specimens for shipment. This individual is expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and function as part of a care-giving team.

PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a Payroll Administrator who will be responsible for processing accurately employee data (new hires, changes, additional earnings) into the payroll system and processing a bi-weekly payroll for a staff of 300+. Additional responsibilities include the review and importing employee time & attendance data from the time system to payroll and reconciling variances utilizing tools in excel. You will create ad-hoc reports and process benefit deductions for 403b plan and other benefit programs. The Payroll Administrator will support the work of the Senior Accountant in vouchering for grant contracts, including time and effort attestations. In addition, this employee will backup accounts payable duties including, coding of invoices to cost centers and funding sources, invoice accuracy, and check preparation.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s Chelsea site is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position with normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 9-5pm). Occasional evening hours will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Associates Degree required in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • 2-3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a union setting.
  • Formal Payroll training/certification is a plus.
  • Experience in grants administration preferred.
  • Experience in Solomon and Paychex software strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and Access) required.
  • Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to manage vendor relations.
  • Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks and remain calm and helpful under stress.
