FACILITIES MANAGER

Position Summary

Callen–Lorde is seeking an experienced facilities professional to oversee the provision of services to our growing organization that has several medical clinics and administrative sites. In this role, the Facilities Manager will oversee facilities operations services and maintenance, workplace environmental health & safety, regulatory compliance, and security.  The Facilities Manager will ensure that all staff have a safe, clean, healthy and comfortable work environment.  The Facilities Manager will also have over site of Callen-Lorde’s mobile medical van.  Additionally, the Facilities Manager will lead facilities relocation and expansion projects of considerable scope and complexity. In this role the Facilities Manager will also manage relationships with external contractors and ensure all vendors institute effective systems for logging and tracking of needed inspections, maintenance schedules, and repair needs.  The Facilities Manager will also take the lead in communicating timelines for resolution of problems with staff.  Callen-Lorde is looking for a candidate that is dedicated to our mission, has strong project management experience and exceptional leadership skills to manage a small team of facilities/maintenance staff.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position with normal business hours (9:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday – Friday). Occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Facilities Management OR equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
  • Fire/Emergency Safety Director Certification.
  • 5+ years experience in building/property management. Construction project management experience required.
  • Medical facility experience and/or familiarity with infection control guidelines strongly preferred.
  • Professional certification, affiliation, and/or membership(s) in the field of facilities management, Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) preferred.
  • Excellent communication, customer service and PC skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to track metrics, think creatively.

DENTAL HYGIENIST – PART-TIME

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is seeking for a part-time Dental Hygienist to provide quality dental care services to patients under the general supervision of our dentists and using established dental hygiene procedures in our Dental Clinic. The Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing preventative dental services to patients in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner. The Dental Hygienist is expected to assess the dental condition and needs of patients using approved screening procedures, and provide recommended treatment while maintaining a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and function as part of a care-giving team. The Dental Hygienist operates under Callen-Lorde’s protocols and under the supervision of the Dental Director.

Schedule

This position is part-time and will only consist of one scheduled day per week (Tuesdays 8:30 am –4:30pm).  Additional hours might be considered, based on the needs of the dental clinic.

Qualifications

  • Current NYS required Licensure/Certification/Registration.
  • CPR certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume clinic.
  • Ability to work within team-based structure.

GRANTS ACCOUNTANT

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a Grants Accountant who will work under the supervision of the Grants Director to manage the post award grant accounting process and ensure compliance with the Federal, State, and Local funding source’s administrative guidelines. The Grants Accountant will work with grant funded program Managers in financial reporting and tracking, as well as with external auditors and government agency representatives regarding grant budgets and allowable expenditures. In this role, the Grant Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly/quarterly invoices and expense reports for all funding agencies; managing grant labor reporting and maintaining the vouchering schedule in addition to monitoring the timely receipt of payments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business required, preferably in Accounting or Finance

HEPATITIS C PROGRAM COORDINATOR, NURSE PRACTITIONER OR PHYSICIAN’S ASSISTANT

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a Hepatitis C Program Coordinator who will be part of Callen-Lorde’s multidisciplinary Hepatitis C Program and functions under the supervision of the Senior Director of Research and Education. The Medical Provider in this position provides direct treatment and assists with Hepatitis C linkage to care, and related logistics/care coordination, and data collection and reporting. The coordinator will assess patients for treatment readiness and adherence. The coordinator will also be responsible for ongoing tracking of all Hepatitis C positive patients. The coordinator will assist with Hepatitis C related education and training activities for patients and staff.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s main clinical site in Chelsea is open Monday through Saturday.  This is a full-time position that will require both morning and evening shifts.

Qualifications

  • New York State License and Registration (NP or PA)
  • Board Certification and AAHIVM certification preferred
  • Current DEA Registration required
  • Current CPR and Infection Control certification required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of acute or ambulatory care experience is required, additional experience highly preferred.
  • At least one year of experience with Hep-C and/or HIV treatment in a public/community health care setting is required.
  • Experience in sexual health and in screening, treating & patient education in sexually transmitted infection within a harm reduction model of care

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE – TEMP TO PERM

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a friendly, team oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic Nursing team. The LPN is responsible for assisting primary care providers — physicians and mid-level providers by providing general nursing care, patient screening, and clinical support.  The LPN will also provide patient education and medication administration (including injections). The LPN is also expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and functioning as part of a care-giving team.  The LPN will rotate work at our three clinics located in Chelsea and the Bronx depending on staffing needs.

MANAGER, MEDICAL BILLING

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is seeking a dedicated, organized and detail oriented individual to join our team as the Manager of our Patient Accounts Department (MPA). The Manager will work directly with the Director of Patient Accounts to oversee the operation and supervise a growing team in the Patient Accounts department. In this role, responsibilities will include overseeing the billing, reconciliation, and collections for all patient visits at Callen-Lorde. The Manager will work collaboratively with the Director of Patient Accounts to develop, implement and monitor operational practices in the department. The Manager will also hire, train, coach and monitor employee performance while maintaining compliance with federal, state and local privacy laws. This person will also facilitate documentation, performance improvement, and quality improvement initiatives.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 10:00am – 6:00pm). Occasional evening hours will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field required.

MEDICAL CLINIC MANAGER – CALLEN-LORDE BRONX

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a Medical Clinic Manager who will provide leadership and oversight to Callen-Lorde’s Bronx site. The Manager will work in collaboration with all departments to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the day-to-day administrative functions of the clinical operation. The Manager will be an integral part of the site’s leadership team, and will work closely with the Director of Clinical Operations – Bronx and interdepartmental leads to implement strategies, policies and operational systems to effectively serve as liaison to the Director while facilitating interdepartmental communication. The Manager will also provide guidance, troubleshooting and feedback to the medical administrative support staff. The Manager will also represent Callen-Lorde at external forums, committees, and other offsite meetings.

NURSE MANAGER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a Nursing Manager will work directly with the Director of Nursing to oversee and supervise clinical and operational services in the nursing department at Callen-Lorde.  In this role, responsibilities will include the selection, scheduling and performance monitoring of a staff of 50+ RNs, LPNs, MAs, Phlebotomists, and Pharmacy Technicians. The Nursing Manager will work collaboratively with the Nursing Supervisors and have direct oversight of the staff and workflow on the clinical floors.  The Nursing Manager will coordinate staff training & education seminars.  This person will also facilitate documentation, performance improvement, and quality improvement initiatives. The Nursing Manager will support the Director of Nursing in the development and oversight of nursing department protocols, policies, procedures and standards of care. SOCIAL WORKER

Position Summary

Callen-Lorde is seeking a social worker who will provide individual, family/couple and group psychotherapy sessions, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, care coordination, and referral services. The position will work in collaboration with Callen-Lorde medical staff and consulting psychiatrists, as a member of our multi-disciplinary team. The overall goal of the position is to ensure that patients’ psychosocial needs are addressed and met. The social worker may be required to provide therapy on a walk-in basis in our Article 31 clinic, rather than having a set patient schedule and/or providing short/long term therapy depending on the needs of the clinic.

Schedule

Callen-Lorde’s Mental Health Clinic (The Thea Spyer Center) is open Monday through Friday. This is a full-time position (Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm) which will include some evening hours.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work and NYS licensure – LMSW or LCSW required
  • At least 1 or more years post-Master’s clinical experience working with both adult individuals and groups preferred
  • Experience working in New York State Article 31 outpatient practice setting preferred
  • Knowledge of LGBT- and HIV-related health/mental health issues and concerns
  • Computer literacy required.
  • The ability to maintain on-going documentation in an electronic charting system
