Health Education, Training, Outreach and Research

Callen-Lorde's Health Education and Outreach Program is designed to disseminate LGBT health information and promote safe, supportive health care services for the LGBT community and those organizations that serve the LGBT community. The cornerstone of our program is client and community empowerment.

The Health Education and Outreach Program:

• Provides LGBT sensitivity training to medical, health care, and other social service professionals;
• Conducts health education workshops throughout the five boroughs, focused on LGBT health priorities;
• Recruits new audiences and new patients through outreach activities such as tabling at health fairs;
• Offers forums for community members to impact the services and programs at Callen-Lorde.

Research at Callen-Lorde:
Callen-Lorde’s research department is dedicated to applied research based on our 40 plus years of providing sensitive care to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.
